At Shaw's Paws Professional Canine Services, we believe that dogs are not just pets, they are members of the family. That's why we treat every dog that comes into our pack with the same love and attention that we give to our own dog. Working closely with you, we build a personalised plan that suits your dog and needs, whether walking, adventure days, drop ins or respite care, we will ensure they receive the same attention as they do at home with you.
We are fully insured, qualified, experienced and offer a range of services including solo walks, group walks, and drop in services for dogs who need some company, care or interaction during your absence. We will provide personalised and bespoke care for your dog, putting your dog's needs first. We can provide video, photos and updates while you are away, offering reassurance and peace of mind.
Why not try our walking adventure days - A full day of exercise, enrichment and adventure for your dog while you're busy at an event or occasion. You can return home knowing your dog will be home, content, satisfied, tired and ready to cuddle up and sleep. Just what you need after your full day.
I have embarked on a series of courses and relevant professional development studies with the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Training) since leaving teaching. My interest and passion for understanding dog's, their body language, breed traits and their care, health and well-being are the centre of everything I do with Shaw's Paws. I am also trained to be a fosterer for Guide Dog's UK. All of this ensures that I am able to provide a professional, experienced and knowledgeable service.
My Name is Nikki, I'm the face behind Shaw's Paws.
Our business is inspired by a love of dogs and all they bring to our world. I am both experienced and qualified. I have been around dogs all of my life. We've had boxers, dobermans, german shepherds, labradors and terriers. We have, as a family looked after friend's dogs for many years when they are away on holiday or needed to be away on business. Our friends know we never say no to a friendly pooch.
For 28 Years I worked in Primary Education, As a teacher, I was often around to be able to step in during school holidays to look after and care for other's dogs. So when I took the decision to step away from my position as an Assistant Head teacher in a busy Primary School, it felt right to begin some new qualifications and start working in a field I already had a huge passion and love for. And Yes surprisingly, There are many transferable skills I bring with me from that role. But, most importantly, I have a great passion and love, for all things canine.

At Shaw's Paws, we believe every dog deserves the best care possible. That's why we offer a variety of risk assessed walking routes designed to satisfy your dog’s natural instincts. Whether you prefer a specific route or leave the choice to us, we're fortunate to have access to beautiful beaches, woodlands, and open countryside right on our doorstep. With your input and our professional expertise, we’ll select from a range of local walks tailored to your dog’s unique preferences. We understand that breed traits and individual personalities play a big role in what dogs enjoy. Whether your dog loves swimming, scent trailing, fetching, digging, or chasing, or if they need a gentle stroll due to age or mobility concerns, we’ll plan the perfect route for them. Our walking services include:
We’d love to hear about your dog and what they enjoy! Feel free to drop us a WhatsApp or give us a call to chat about their needs.
At Shaws Paws we understand that sometimes dogs don't need a walk, they may just need some company, interaction and stimulus for 30 minutes, or an hour or two. Perhaps your dog is elderly, has not been well, or is injured and needs specific intervention such as medication or limited exersize during the day. Perhaps you have a very new puppy who you have to leave for a couple of hours to do an errand and they're too young to be left or go out yet.
What ever the need, give us a call and we can discuss what we can do for you.

Going to a wedding, festival, interview or appointment? How about a full day's activitiy for your dog. Giving you peace of mind knowing that they will be walking, swimming, following trails, fully engaged and most importantly happy, while you're doing what you need to do. We can pick your dog up, take them out for a full day of fun and then settle them back at home ready for you to come back to a happy, fulfilled best friend who is ready for a cuddle and a good sleep when you return from your day.

Why not treat yourself to a full day at a spa, a day shopping with friends, or just a day to catch up on chores. Knowing that your pooch is pampered and loving every minute of their adventure will give you the peace of mind to enjoy your day. We understand that every dog is unique, so we tailor our adventures to meet your pet's individual needs.

At Shaws Paws Professional Canine Services, we believe that every dog deserves to live a happy and healthy life. We strive to provide a fun and safe environment for your pet, while also giving them the exercise and attention they need to thrive.
